Brownie Points if you Spot the Blooper

The City of North Miami Beach posted a series of three videos on its Facebook page within the last hour, advising residents to sign a petition urging Governor Ron DeSantis to veto Florida House Bill 1452.

The three videos were recorded in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.

These videos were also posted on the city’s YouTube Channel, NMBTV.

Within minutes of my posting a comment pointing out a glaring error in the videos, the videos were removed from Facebook, YouTube, and most likely other social media platforms where they were posted.

Luckily for you, dear readers, we were able to download and save the video hosted by Commissioner Jay Chernoff and post it to our own YouTube Channel for your viewing enjoyment.

Can you spot the blooper?

Don’t worry.

If you missed it, we’ll post it in the comment section below.

Folks, can’t make this stuff up.

  1. For those of you who haven’t found the blooper, here’s a hint.

Twenty seven seconds into the video, the camera pans to this facility.

    Any questions?

    1. Competence is not this city’s strongest asset. Who made this mistake? Curious minds want to know.

      1. I have no idea. And frankly, I don’t really care.

I do know, however, that Michael Joseph is acting like he runs the city, so this is on him. He owns this one!

  2. If this is supposed to convey urgency, it needs someone speaking with urgency and conviction. As it stands, it didn’t grab my attention at all. The only reason I kept listening was because I was waiting to see the blooper you mentioned which, quite frankly, is pretty inexcusable.

How does city staff manage to send a camera crew to the wrong facility and still put this out publicly? At a minimum, someone should have been directing the speaker properly and confirming they were filming at the correct location before anything was released. SMH

    1. I’m told the city recently hired someone to head up the communications department.

      That’s working out well, right?

  3. Well, the Mayor’s Aide works full-time at the City of North Miami (and gets paid for 29 hours a week at the City of NMB), so maybe she was confused and directed the camera crew to the North Miami water plant instead of the NMB water plant.

    1. I wonder how Carolina Matamoros works at least 40 full time hours at North Miami and also 29 part time hours at North Miami Beach, while still being able to do either job competently.

I also wonder if Carolina Matamoros received permission from the North Miami Personnel Board to take on a second job.

This would be worth investigating, no?

  4. Can it get any better? Almost everything the City sends out, whether it be correspondence, a flyer, or an event, it almost always has to be corrected; the date is wrong, the time is wrong, the flyer’s language is wrong, it’s because no one gives a crap and no one is ever held accountable for errors or mistakes. Never!

The City’s video is a prime example.

    1. Ask your “mayor” why the city is run so poorly. Maybe he should stop pressuring management to hire his friends and political allies since they are obviously the problem children.

      Just saying.

  5. It’s House Bill 1451 not 1452. The picture is the North Miami water plant, not the North Miami Beach. Such incompetence. Heads should roll but they won’t.
