During the 2011 City Council election in North Miami, then-Mayor Andre Pierre was running for re-election.
One of his opponents, Carol Keys, had 17 of her campaign signs completely destroyed.
In response, Ms. Keys did something brilliant that attracted the attention of CBS Miami, which reported:
But instead of replacing her signs, Keys posted a sign over her vandalized sign that read, ‘Do you want the criminals who did this running North Miami?’ The message was followed by ‘Elect Carol Keys For Mayor Of North Miami.’
During the 2022 North Miami Beach municipal election, we reported that the same North Miami “criminals who did this” were already infiltrating not only NMB’s election, but its government as well.
Believe it or not, after all these years Andre Pierre and his Circle of Corruption are still trying to get a foothold in North Miami Beach, as evidenced by the people and entities that funded the recently failed Stronger NMB political committee’s petition.
Fast forward to the 2026 election, and we’re having a déjà vu all over again.
Nice, huh?
Consider that Phyllis Smith’s only opponent is Ariel Vasquez, who is not only the organizer and the face of the Stronger NMB political committee, but also deep in the pocket of Big Development, and by extension, Andre Pierre’s Circle of Corruption …
We’re pretty sure who the “Criminals who did this” are!

Let’s also remember that this happened in North Miami Beach 4 years ago, several Jay Chernoff and Phyllis signs were destroyed or stolen off of peoples yards. While the corrupt city manager tuned a blind eye while Paule Villard openly flaunted the rules around size and placement of signs.
Apparently Linda Joseph’s team have been trying this, thinking they could get away with it. Luckily, this City Manager is on the case!!!
