Today is Election Day in North Miami Beach, and history is about to be made. For starters, due to a Charter Amendment instituting staggered terms, this is the first time we are holding a municipal election for only three out of seven seats. It’s also the first time there is no mayoral race. Since Barbara Kramer is running unopposed and gets to sit out this election, the race is concentrated to two seats.
In Group 2, the candidates are (in alphabetical order) Jean D. Berrouet, Tony DeFillipo, Hillel Hellinger, Margie Love and Jaime Miller. In the race for Group 4, Rene Alfonso, Yvenoline Dargenson and Muriel Kemp are challenging incumbent Beth Spiegel for her seat.
The unfortunate thing about our city is that voter turnout has always been traditionally low, even in a highly publicized and controversial election, such as the one in 2011. In that year, when EX-mayor/FUTURE-felon Myron Rosner faced challengers George Vallejo and Kenny DeFillipo, only 3,323 out of nearly 20,000 voters bothered to vote. And even then, only 3,140 of them cast ballots for their choice of mayor. Two weeks later in the runoff election, 3,454 people, or 17.51% of all registered voters, decided five council races for a population of approximately 40,000 residents. Think about this. Only 8.6% of the residents of North Miami Beach chose who will represent the remaining 91.4% of the population at City Hall.
How pathetic is that?
If you’re one of the 20,000 voters who let less than 3,500 others make your decisions for you, you have no right to complain about your government.
If you don’t planning on voting today and helping decide the course of your city’s future, you may as well move to North Miami because you’ll deserve whatever Frantz Pierre’s Circle of Corruption has in store for you.
If you are planning to vote and haven’t already made up your mind by now, you haven’t been paying attention.
This election, with The P Man’s encouragement and assistance, the North Miami City Council Players have decided to bring their own special brand of corruption to our city. For starters, North Miami’s city clerk Michael A. Etienne, Esquire and mayor Andre Pierre, its former mayor Joe Celestin, and Etienne’s law partner Philip J. Brutus, stepped out of their comfort zone in North Miami to hand pick two people to run for office in North Miami Beach.
Like misery, corruption loves company.
Cousins Jean D. Berrouet and MIRAMAR RESIDENT Yvenoline “Yve” Dargenson are heavily financed by the corruptocrats of North Miami, who are not happy with merely controlling a population of 60,000 sheep on their side of the street. After all, why settle for control of a mere 60,000 residents when you can misappropriate the revenue of over 100,000 taxpayers? Haitian radio “personalities” in both cities are already salivating at the prospect.
As for the “investors” in Biscayne Landing, controlling the North Miami Beach City Council could be their wet dream come true.
NMB VOTERS: ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION YET?
Electing either one of these Pierre Patsies would literally be the Kiss of Death for North Miami Beach.
If the prospect of becoming One With North Miami doesn’t scare you to the polls today, here are a couple more reasons to get you off your couch and into the voting booth:
- The LIAR OF MIRAMAR, L’il Evil Yve Dargenson, is running on the “Family Values” of being “married with children” while claiming to actually not live with her husband and children.
- Preacher Man Berrouet’s own “Family Values” include an alleged racist daughter, an alleged racist wife, a jailbird son, and church/hip hop music company that produces videos endorsing Sex, Drugs and Violence.
Yeah, Frantzie really knows how to pick ’em, eh?
Folks, it’s bad enough we have thugs like Frantz Pierre sneaking around City Hall all hours of the day and night:
Do you really want shady characters like this hanging around, too?
Folks, I’m dead serious here. You have a choice.
You can vote for REAL Family Values today and help SAVE NORTH MIAMI BEACH from a Thugocracy.
You can vote for upstanding citizens who ACTUALLY LIVE IN NORTH MIAMI BEACH and not MIRAMAR.
You can vote for candidates who have already proven they care about our city by their service and dedication.
Or you can vote for LIARS, RACISTS AND THUGS.
The choice is yours.
I voted for Beth Spiegel and Tony DeFillipo and ask that you consider these two candidates as well.
TODAY IS THE DAY!
I BEG OF YOU!
PLEASE VOTE RESPONSIBLY!

I dont get you any more, here you are supposedly crusading for the greater good, you voted in spiegel who has been on the council till now.. you voted for defilipo even though you endorsed Hellinger last time around.
I dont get you at all…
Not sure what there is to get. I have always supported Beth. As for Hillel, I don’t remember endorsing him, but I supported him against Phyllis. This time around I supported Tony, period. I don’t care who was running against him. I believe he’s the best choice. You don’t have to agree with me, but I’m certainly no mystery.
Of course because Tony has NO conflicts of interest.. he is merely a registered agent at Decorus realty that just also happens to be selling condo’s across the road from the proposed grenoylds project. By the way, you have been less than honest in your description of the grenoylds project, one wonders what your real agenda is.
To quote: It called for a ten-story office building with a bank and drive-thru, a six-story parking garage, and a rooftop restaurant with “a great view of the park and Maule Lake,” according to city records.”
You keep repeating this 10 story condo line, ive seen the draft of the building… or lets address:
Braha Dixie wants to have the property rezoned to “General Business District B-2,” which allows for a maximum height of 15 stories or 150 feet, whichever is less. In a letter to the city, the Braha group explained that they intended to build a mixed-use development including a hotel with 276 rooms, 82,500 square feet of office space, 25,600 square feet of retail, and a parking garage with 600 spaces.
And your saying that such a project is NOTHING to NMB ? really? so maybe we can just build condo’s right where the grenolyds park golf course is too, maybe a 2500 unit community, shouldent bother you at all right?
Absent a lack of logical addressing in this election, besides a single track war against dragenson, whom i dont like any ways, but failure to give proper addressing of the issues, other than bashing charles baron.
You can try to drag me into your obsession with Greynolds Park, but sorry, it won’t work. I am not a single issues voter, and Greynolds Park is way down on my list of Things I Give A Crap About. Frankly, I couldn’t care less if they wanted to build a 20 story building there or anywhere else in North Miami Beach. If they want to build it in my back yard, I couldn’t care less. Happy now?
As for Tony, I didn’t even know he was a real estate agent until you mentioned it. So I looked him up and you were right. He’s a registered real estate agent for Decorus Realty in Sunny Isles Beach. I knew he managed property but I had no idea he was a licensed agent. Good for him! Maybe if we ever get some decent development in this city, Tony can put that license to good use and make some big bucks! Capitalism is good, baby!
You must have flunked political science 101, Capitalism is not corruption, or profiting off the public. Milton Friedman is surely rolling in his grave.
Grenoylds aside, you have made NO blog posts on defilipo.. rather you chose to either rip on opponents, or shameless cheer-leading for spiegel.
You claim Grenoylds isnt on your agenda, so what is your agenda ? Surely its not “Freedom And Responsible Government”
Common, the game is up, put your cards on the table, your version of capitalism is corruption, your version of “Freedom And Responsible Government” cant be any thing less than the politburo of communist russia
And if your not a single issues voter, why have you made some 30? posts on dragenson.. ? We got the point long ago that she doesnt live here etc etc etc.. but you chose to ignore every other issue in the city and make this your agenda. So how can you argue your not a single issue voter ?
You state “This time around I supported Tony, period. I don’t care who was running against him. I believe he’s the best choice”
You have given no reason’s, no comparison why Tony is better than Hillel, when Hillel clearly was mote intelligent as a whole in voter candidate forum but never mind that.
Nor did I see any thing regarding muriel kemp for or against ?
