Election Day 2024 is almost upon us.
Although the mainstream media is focusing on national and state races, we have always believed that local elections affect your daily lives way more than any other political bodies of government. As citizens, you have more power over what happens at City Hall than you will ever have in Tallahassee or Washington, D.C.
Accordingly, we have compiled a list of VotersOpinion endorsements for the local municipalities we have covered over the years. We firmly believe that these individuals are the best choices to represent the residents of each of these cities, and we urge you to cast your vote for each of them.
- Mayor/Seat 1: Evan Piper
- Seat 3: Hubert Dubé
- Seat 5: Ketley Joachim
- Seat 7: Lynn Su

- Commissioner Seat 1: George Bardmesser

Thank you, Steph,
I voted already and your NMB picks hit the bullseye.
Thanks!
Unfortunately, it looks like we are going back to the corrupt ages. Michael Joseph has won the Mayor’s position by a large margin, MacKenzie Fleuromond as well for seat 5. Seat 3 is going to be a rehash of the runoff from 2020 with Daniela Jean vs. Margie Love and Seat 7 has Lynn Su going up against Paule Villard in a runoff.
I wonder if it is illegal if a candidate uses an address outside the city on his financial reports instead of his/her home address.
You can contact the Florida Elections Commission and ask them about the address issue.
Other than that, I have zero sympathy for the residents of North Miami Beach for their failure to see just how evil Michael Joseph & Co. are. Luckily for me, it’s not my problem. I live in paradise, a/k/a Davie, where corrupt politicians are not welcome.
North Miami Beach is now officially a shithole.
Good luck.
I wish you would publish these picks earlier. I and most of my friends voted early.
Thank you
Anyone who has been reading this blog for the last few years should have already been knowledgeable about the candidates — and especially who NOT to vote for. Judging by the outcome, especially the Mayor’s race, it’s quite apparent that the electorate was either ignorant about Michael Joseph’s corrupt ways or they just didn’t care.
Either way, I doubt a handful of votes would have made any difference. Good luck with your government, though.
Look at the Eastern Shores numbers. They’re suspicious, and at the same time, very telling in the Mayor race. There were some in Piper’s own community working against him over a development. When one community works against the betterment for all, it’s a recipe for disaster. This probably didn’t help Piper’s numbers even beyond Eastern Shores, since support by some of his colleagues was slim to none.
