North Miami Beach City Attorney Joe Geller really, really, really needs to get some rest.
This former member of the Florida House of Representatives, Greenspoon Marder LLP partner, current School Board candidate, municipal attorney for the Town of El Portal, and interim city attorney for Doral, began his new gig in North Miami Beach last month.
Joe is just so excited about his new position as NMB City Attorney, he showed up at tonight’s Commission meeting bright-eyed and-bushy tailed to disseminate his pearls of legal wisdom to the elected officials conducting the People’s Business.
Oh, wait!
Never mind.
The best thing about Joe Geller is that he’s not Strip Mall Lawyer Hans Ottinot.
Nevertheless, North Miami Beach residents deserve better.

Sometimes I wish Hans would fall asleep, like when he is backing corrupt officials on the dais. Or talking over the Mayor and not letting her finish a sentence. Sure you don’t want him back?????
I don’t live in NMB, but I’m sure he wore out his welcome there. I feel your pain, though. Hans is a despicable piece of subhuman garbage. My condolences to your Mayor.

I’ve been on a hiatus. I am so thoroughly disgusted with local (and national) politics right now, it’s hard to keep writing about corruption when no one is ever held accountable. Worse, the Florida legislature recently passed a bill neutering the state and local ethics commissions, so the dirty politicians win and the people lose big time.
I’m hoping that when election season starts I’ll get my mojo back. Or at least, give a shit.
Bay Harbor Islands also has this same Town Attorney who is always “appointed” by the Council with complaints of him “snoozing” on the job? He is also allegedly involved with (BHI) Town Elections, and with keeping the existing (BHI) Town Council members “out of trouble” for as long as (29) years and (25) years with them “appointing” and “rotating” themselves as the Town Mayor and Vice Mayor?
