The Devil on the Dais Strikes Again!

Newly elected North Miami Beach Mayor Evan Piper was sworn in on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

In his nearly 13-minute acceptance speech, Mayor Piper spoke about leaving the past behind and moving the City forward.

You can watch the entire 25-minute ceremony, and especially his speech beginning at minute 11:40, right here:

Five of the six elected officials who showed up — McKenzie Fleurimond was glaringly absent yet again — appeared to be on board with the Mayor’s agenda and ready to do the job that North Miami Beach residents elected them to do.

Even Daniela Jean managed to at least pretend she was happy to be there, despite the fact that “meetings are so hard” for the “only black female on this dais.”

Literally her words, not ours.

As for McKenzie, despite his vigorously stalling the special election for two months later than it should have been held, he deliberately planned to be “out of town” after the December 5, 2023 election, knowing full well he’d miss the swearing-in ceremony a week later.

Coincidentally, McKenzie was also allegedly “out of town” during last year’s swearing-in ceremony on December 1, 2022 after Jay Chernoff’s win over Paule Villard made her a one-term commissioner.

We have a sneaking suspicion that if Paule had won either election, McKenzie’s alleged “vacations” would never have materialized.

Although Michael Joseph made a rare official public appearance on Tuesday night, it was painfully obvious that he wasn’t the least bit happy about it.

Throughout the entire ceremony, the Spawn of Satan disrespectfully stared down at his phone, refused to clap when everyone else was applauding, and quickly left the room the very instant the meeting was adjourned, obviously to avoid having to shake the new Mayor’s hand.

WATCH!

As usual, Criminal Commissioner Michael Joseph made a very public ass of himself.

And despite the “anonymous” complaint of a certain Nextdoor troll, Michael Joseph deserves a very public shaming.

North Miami Beach residents deserve better!

    1. You’re right about that. I’d love to know where he’s hiding his money tree. It’s not like he has a real job.

    2. Unfortunately for Fleurimonde, many of his kickbacks come in the form of pre-paid trips rather than brown-bagged cash. The city vendors have a hard time hiding cash. It’s much easier for them to pay for his ticket and bury it in a business expense. So he has no choice in collecting his graft.. he either goes on the free trip or gets buttkiss.

  1. Michael Joseph has an obvious social disorder. On top of that, he’s rude, malicious, inconsiderate, obnoxious and seems to be unaware of peoples dislike for him.

How a politician can have these glaring traits and a persona that oozes a discomforting feeling from those watching him or engaging with him, is simply shocking, especially at this local level.

I’d be shocked if he were to be reelected again. I heard he is up for election in 2024, yet he seems to have been in office a lot longer. I was surprised to hear he was not termed out yet.

    1. He was first elected during a special election in 2018 to fill a vacant seat. The term for that seat ended in 2020, when he ran again for a full four-year term. According to an interpretation of the Charter, he’s eligible for one more term.

Ironically, when Tony stepped down as Commissioner to run for Mayor in 2018 to fill a vacancy, Michael Joseph tried to use the Charter as a weapon against Tony.

When Tony filled that empty Mayoral seat for a two-year term, he was able to run again for a second term in 2020. Michael was furious and claimed that Tony’s two-year term as Mayor counted as a full term, and that Tony was ineligible to run again.

Michael was so furious, in fact, that he filed an ethics complaint against the City Attorney because he didn’t like her legal opinion. Michael then tired to extort two more attorneys from that firm into changing their official legal opinion in exchange for his vote to retain them as legal counsel. I wrote all about it in There is No Public Trust.

Now Michael is in the same position, having served one two-year term and one four-year term (which ends next year), to take advantage of the very same Charter interpretation he vigorously fought against to be able to run for his seat again.

Yes, Michael Joseph is one evil bastard. He needs to be voted out of office permanently on November 12, 2024.

Yes, Michael Joseph is that evil.

But now, he’s using the exact same Charter clause that he tried to go around in order to stop Tony from running.
