North Miami Beach Criminal Commissioners continue to hold the City hostage for their own personal benefit!

At tonight’s City Commission meeting, which is still going on, North Miami Beach Criminal Commissioners Michael Joseph, McKenzie Fleurimond, and Daniela Jean, balked — once again — at setting a date for a Special Election to fill the vacancy in the mayoral seat.

After delaying this task at last month’s meeting, a new Resolution was placed on the Agenda for the Commission to choose either November 7, 2023 or December 5, 2023 to hold the Special Election.  Despite the fact that everyone, including the elected officials and the residents, want to have the election as soon as possible, the three Criminals immediately turned down the earlier date.

When Commissioner Fortuna Smukler demanded to know why, McKenzie merely said he “likes the December 5th date.”

Um, okay.

Michael Joseph, on the other hand, who presently holds the title of Second Worst Lawyer in South Florida (ex-City “Attorney” Hans Ottinot being The Worst), claimed that the City was in violation of the City Charter by not holding the Special Election “not less than 35 days nor more than 90 days after such vacancy has occurred.”

The seat became vacant on June 5, 2023 when the former mayor was suspended pending the outcome of his criminal trial, which would necessitate a Special Election being held no later than September 3, 2023.  However, due to the fact that the Miami-Dade County Elections Department has the sole power to set elections, the earliest date available was October 10, 2023.

The Commission had the opportunity to vote for this date at the July 18, 2023 North Miami Beach Commission meeting, but as we already reported, they voted against it.  We wrote:

” … because there are only six members on the dais at present, all votes that end in a tie automatically fail.

And don’t think for one minute the three Criminal Commissioners won’t take advantage of the temporary loss of a deciding vote in order to hold the City hostage for as long as they can in order to punish residents for voting out Paule Villard and causing them to lose their majority on the dais.  They want you to suffer!

In fact, they care so little about the people they were elected to represent, the three Criminal Commissioners also also voted against Resolution No. R2023-52 to hold a Special Election on October 10, 2023 to fill the vacant mayoral seat.

Once again, a 3-3 tie vote caused the legislation to fail, and the People’s Business will now be stalled indefinitely.”

Once again this item was on tonight’s Agenda, and as expected, the Criminals balked once again.

Despite the fact that the City cannot hold an election without the express approval and cooperation of the Miami-Dade County Elections Department, Michael Joseph insisted that the City should not hold an election because the date was outside the Charter’s requirement.

And despite the fact that the reason the Special Election was not held on October 10, 2023 was the sole fault of Michael and his co-conspirators on the dais, he “opined” that the Commission should appoint someone to fill the vacancy instead of holding an election.

Even if that were a valid argument, which it is not, the irony of his believing that a majority on this particular Commission would agree on any one individual to appoint apparently escapes Michael’s tenuous grip on reality.

Even more ironic is the fact that Michael Joseph, who has violated the Charter in more ways than we have time to enumerate here, claimed that the City should now violate the Charter by appointing a mayor because he thinks that holding a Special Election now is a violation of the Charter.

If you’re having trouble following Michael’s twisted logic, just imagine how painful it is to actually be inside Michael Joseph’s diabolical mind.

Be grateful, you’re not.

In the end, the three Criminals bullied Acting Mayor Jay Chernoff and Commissioner Phyllis Smith into voting to hold the Special Election on December 5, 2023.  Commissioner Fortuna Smukler voted no on GP, and Michael Joseph voted no because he’s a delusional, evil, son of a bitch, and gets off on making everyone around him as miserable as he is.

Make no mistake.

There is a reason the Criminals want to hold off a Special Election as long as possible.

We have our suspicions, and we aim to find out.

In any event, Mayor Anthony DeFillipo’s trial is scheduled to begin on September 5, 2023, and anything can happen.

Anything at all.

Just saying.

  1. I think Smukler was on to something when I believe she said there’s a candidate that the three corrupt commissioners want for Mayor and maybe by December they will have met the residency requirement to run.
I’ll assume you need to live here six months or a year before you can run?

    1. Anyone running for office has to reside in NMB one year before qualifying, which would be October 28, 2023 with an election date of December 5, 2023. Maybe they have another Criminal to run but that person hasn’t lived in the City long enough to meet an earlier qualifying date. It’s entirely plausible that the three Criminal Commissioners already conspired to push the date as far as possible to accommodate their recruit.

  2. Since the judge ordered them to attend the meetings, can’t the judge order them to hold the election in Oct?

    1. I think that case is now closed. Not sure, though, but I don’t think any judge would order an election unless a new lawsuit is filed.

  3. Maybe they’re too embarrassed to admit they support corrupt politicians simply because of skin color or to get free stuff.

Then again, they’d have to be self-aware to even realize they’re nothing but racists and grifters.
