North Miami Beach Commissioner McKenzie Fleurimond probably had no idea the wrath he would incur from North Miami Beach residents when he decided to throw a tantrum, break quorum, and bring City business to a screeching halt at the December 20, 2022 Commission Meeting.
He underestimated the power of the people.
He also woefully underestimated the sheer determination of resident Keith Myers to hold his elected officials accountable for their actions!
McKenzie was on the receiving end of a plethora of emails from residents expressing their extreme distaste for his childish behavior.
But, Keith’s letter especially was so awesome, we were compelled to reprint it here in all its unedited glory.

Commissioner Fleurimond, I along with many others were in shock with your behavior last night at the city commission. I have been called by countless residents in the past 24 hours who are disgusted with your behavior and feel that you did not just walk away from the dais, but you also turned your back on the residents of North Miami Beach. Your lack of respect has caused residents to lose all confidence in you being an elected official and have justified my request for your immediate resignation as you are unfit for office.
You felt the need to mislead the public by repeating a discredited statement claiming the mayor of North Miami Beach does not reside in North Miami Beach, making the untruthful statement that it has just come to your attention within the past few hours via an anonymous email. We all know that our phones were blasted with this same untruthful statement throughout the month of November, so please do not insult our intelligence by claiming that you recently learned of this. Furthermore, making claims without evidence is opening up the door for litigation against you. Then again, making claims without evidence is par for the course with you, as you have demonstrated this time and time again, most recently with your push to censure Commissioner Barbara Kramer for saying something during a commission meeting that is not in any transcript.
Back in March, you dismissed me when I criticized some of the decisions that the city was making, specifically regarding Paule Villard, brushing me off like I am nobody. I made a promise that night that I would play a major role in removing her from office, you and Michael Joseph laughed me off, yet I did not let that get to me. I spent the past 7 months leading the charge to remove the commissioner you felt was untouchable. Furthermore, I worked hard to expose her abuse of office and uncontrollable spending. I played a major role in helping the people of North Miami Beach to wake up and hold our elected officials accountable.
I remember a specific moment where Commissioner Daniella Jean made a narky response when I was protesting your attempt to illegally sell a city park to private developers as part of a backroom scheme you took part in. I was standing behind Commissioner Daniella Jean, and she was joking that she saw protests in front, and it’s not going to work…. Well, not only did it indeed work, but it was that moment that I decided not to tell Daniella Jean that she had a quarter sized hole in her pants.
Now that you realize that I am indeed a threat to your ability to hold office, and not simply someone with a big mouth. I made a statement last night during public speaking. I specifically said that the voters of North Miami Beach have woken up and made the push to remove the sort of corruption that you embraced during your time in office. In the same way, I have taken a leadership role in removing Paule Villard from office, I will be taking the same role in removing you from office if your immediate resignation is not tendered.
If you fail to resign, I have already started with the process of the recall of McKenzie Fleurimond, as your actions last night meet at least two of the minimum requirements for a recall. Furthermore, I have identified at least 3 other charges that justify your removal, including abuse of the City P-Card (Donations to NHAEON and the Democratic Party of Florida totaling thousands of dollars). Regardless of your decision to resign or be removed via the recall process, the city of North Miami Beach deserves to be repaid for those charges, as they are a violation of both the city charter and P-Card policy.
Mr Fleurimond, with all due respect, you owe the residents of North Miami Beach an apology for your shameful behavior last night. Your actions were petty and disgraceful and only served as a way to delay the removal of the most corrupt city manager and incompetent city attorney. We the residents have already spoken up when we came out to elect Jay and Phyllis to hold office as we all expressed our anger with the ineffectiveness of our city manager. Your actions last night show that you will always put loyalty to your clique over your responsibility to the residents of North Miami Beach. This makes you unfit for office and is one of the many reasons I am joining my fellow residents in demanding your immediate resignation.

The new revenue coming in from the new development is to be spent on the residents of NMB.
We need to make sure this happens and get a forensic audit of revenue spent over the last few years. Everything in the SUNSHINE!
I can practically guarantee that a forensic audit will reveal not only misappropriation of public money, but malfeasance and criminality at the hand of top management. The P Card charges alone for travel, food (and lots of it), and illegal donations ($1,000 to the Haitian Lawyers Association by Michael Joseph, $300 to the DNC by McKenzie), and tens of thousands of dollars to party with friends in Chandler, AZ, Washington, DC, and other cities, to name a few, will be exposed. The abusers should be forced to reimburse the taxpayers for this illicit spending spree. I strongly urge the resident to file a class-action suit against the perpetrators. Just saying.

McKenzie Fleurimond is a smarmy little prick, who loves nothing more than to hear the sound of his own voice. If he actually believes that Duke and Hans are doing a “great job” (as McKenzie says at every freaking meeting without fail), then there’s something wrong with him and he should seek help. I suspect he does know that Duke and Hans are corrupt and beyond incompetent, but he doesn’t care.
Duke lets McKenzie spend whatever he wants on anything he wants, taxpayers be damned, and Hans is there to justify and cover up all the criminal activity going on. Duke and Hans could commit murder on the steps of City Hall in broad daylight with dozens of witnesses, but as long as McKenzie gets regular raises and can charge up a storm on his P Card with no limit, he’d tell you that they’re doing a “great job.”
The rest of us can only watch in wonder how McKenzie lived the past 39 years so far without being a grand prize winner of a Darwin Award.
Time for the Governor to take them out of office since the State Attorney won’t do anything!!!

With all the taxpayer money they spend, you’d think Daniela Jean could afford to pay for clothes without holes. I guess that’s the standard of dress they have in North Miami, the Port of Prince on the Mainland.
I don’t think the problem had anything to do with the cost of her clothes as opposed to her choice of clothing. Pants usually only split down the butt if they’re too small for the person trying to squeeze into them.

I wasted ten minutes of my life listening to Motor Mouth talk about how the CM and the CA have moved the City forward. Standard b.s. buzz words for limited vocabulary politicians like him. Moving forward means to him moving out of his mom’s house and getting his very first apartment at age 37. Of course, he needed to vote to increase his own city pay a few times so he could afford to pay rent. Even then he had a problem paying it. Moving forward means getting your very own credit card for the first time (City P-Card) and then going on a spending spree like an irresponsible 15-year-old and charging everything he couldn’t afford to pay for himself. Like giving large donations to the Democrat party, something he would never do if he had to pay for it. Moving forward means getting his colleagues to vote to spend $150,000 of city funds to renovate a city building and then lease it to his wife’s Haitian Nurses social club for 10 years at $1 a year. No other organizations were interviewed or vetted.
Motor Mouth also had the hutzpa to state the CA should be given a chance to have a retreat to explain himself and possibly save his overpaid ass. Never mind the previous city attorney firm was not given that same opportunity when Motor Mouth made the motion to replace them on the spot with his very own “boutique” law firm, paying the 3 person firm the same price the city was paying for a professional 70 person staffed law firm. He was either too dumb to set a much lower offer price or he was corrupt in offering him the same price. I think it was both.
Motor Mouth also did not care that the CA was so incompetent when he allowed City staff to spend $67,000 for a surf & turf party for prospective developers to view the “You can’t build on it” tennis courts. A waste of $67k. Yeah really moving forward on that one.
Bottom line. this fat sack of #%$ could care less about the residents of NMB. He motioned to not lower the property tax millage rate because he stated he could manage the small saving better than they could. He spends it “better” on his expensive trips to Arizona, Colorado, and Washington DC. where he laughs at the benefit the trips are providing to the residents of NMB. High-fiving his criminal colleagues on the trip who were also wasting taxpayer funds. Just because they can.
