The proverbial ink was barely dry on our last column, The real cost of Racist Paule Villard’s exclusive party for the women of “her community,” in which we pointed out her outright racism toward anyone who “doesn’t look like her,” when North Miami Beach Criminal Commissioner Paule Villard’s latest campaign flyer listing her many “accomplishments” landed in the voters’ mailboxes.
And just as we’ve known from the moment she began occupying a seat on the Commission dais, Paule proved once again that the only thing she cares about is what people look like.
Apparently, Paule’s greatest “achievements” as an elected official is that she “supported the hiring” of a Police Chief, more police officers, a City Manager, and a City Attorney based solely on the color of their skin.
It doesn’t get anymore shallow or superficial than that.
What’s really insulting is that Police Chief Harvette Smith is a decorated 24-year veteran officer, who single-handedly helped the NMBPD become the first law enforcement agency in Miami-Dade County to receive national accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., and who was solely responsible for the Department being awarded the coveted Excelsior status from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, (CFA) for an extraordinary fourth time in a row.
But in the eyes of Paule Villard, who was nothing more than a Mall Cop with a badge and a gun during her less than mediocre 21 years at the City of Miami Police Department, Police Chief Smith’s only redeeming quality is that she happens to be African American.
Beyond that disgraceful insult, Paule Villard wants you to believe that “supporting” things that other people legislated are praiseworthy “accomplishments.”
What’s really hilarious, though, is that Paule now claims that she was only a supporting player in “the donation of Publix Gift Cards to residents during Covid.”
The truth, however, is that Paule Villard actually sponsored the pilfering of $100,000 of your tax dollars from the General Fund to purchase a thousand $100 Publix gift cards.
In May of 2021, Paule pushed through Resolution R2021-40, despite the fact that this was an egregious violation of Section III(A)(3) of the Florida Commission on Ethics Florida Guide to the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees, which prohibits public officials from using “their official positions or the resources thereof to obtain a special privilege or benefit for themselves or others,” as well as a clear violation of Article VII, Finance and Taxation, Section 10, of The Florida Constitution, which specifically prohibits municipalities from giving, lending or using its taxing power to “aid any corporation, association, partnership or person.”
Mere months before the November 8, 2022 election, she did it again!
On August 16, 2022 she sponsored Resolution No. R2022-118 for the alleged purpose of “using [$225,000 of] American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to purchase 1,500 Publix Gift Cards valued at $150.00 each to be issued to residents who have experienced financial hardship and food insecurity due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Her real agenda, of course was to buy 1,500 votes for her re-election so she could continue campaigning on your dime.
And yet suddenly, Criminal Commissioner Paule Villard is now trying to distance herself from any Publix gift card giveaways ever since Channel 10’s Glenna Milberg exposed her for using tax dollars as a campaign stunt.
According to the article, “‘It’s not taxpayer money,’ North Miami Beach Commissioner Paule Villard said about the city-sponsored event she eagerly took credit for on Facebook Live posts.”
In her broadcast, Ms. Milberg reponded, “It is most certainly public money!”
And, yet, Paule the simpleton dug her heels in and made a total fool of herself on the taxpayer-funded Facebook video by saying:
Yeah, that’s uh, yeah. I think she said that she think it was taxpayer money but she’s here to get a card. But she’s a resident, so we really don’t have anything to say about it. But, you know, I just wanted to go out there to say its ARPA money, you know.
It’s ARPA money, madam. It’s not taxpayer money. And we are here to serve the resident with the money, the money, that the government sent to help the people.
Take a look at all the people who are here. They been here all night. Including the people who only said it’s taxpayer money!
WATCH!
We here at VotersOpinion would probably be speechless, too, if we hadn’t already witnessed the unimaginable stupidity of Paule Villard on far more occasions than we’d like to believe.
Folks, we couldn’t make this up if we wanted to.
