Daniela Jean, the freshly elected North Miami Beach Puppet Commissioner, got her little girl panties twisted about a comment posted on our November 13, 2020 blog, Guest Columnist Mark Sell: North Miami Beach November 17 runoff special, which mentioned her home address of 1155 NE 157 Street, North Miami Beach, Florida 33162.
Or should we say, her parents’ home address.
Imagine our surprise when the Webmaster received an email from the compliance division of our web hosting company, HostMonster, advising us that then-Puppet Candidate/now-Puppet Commissioner filed a report against VotersOpinion for “Disclosing sensitive personal information about others.”
The email also attached a copy of the “offending” comment.
Except there’s one tiny problem …
Little Miss Puppet is absolutely wrong.
Whoever pulled her strings and instructed her to file this report against us made a really big mistake.
As a political candidate for office, and now as an elected official, Daniela Jean’s entire personal life is now a permanent public record.
Including her home address.
And anything else we manage to dig up on her.
As soon as the Webmaster received the report, we immediately contacted HostMonster’s legal department to set the record straight.
The inconvenient truth is that when Daniela filed her very first Campaign Treasurer’s/Waiver of Report on August 19, 2020, her personal home address of 1155 NE 157 Street, North Miami Beach, Florida 33162 became a very public record.
We also advised HostMonster that according to Section 119.071(4)(d) of the Florida Statutes, address exemption from public records only applies to specific groups of public employees, including but not limited to law enforcement officers, firefighters, judges, US attorneys, state prosecutors, public defenders, members of the Armed Forces, and the National Guard.
For a full listing of all occupational groups that qualify for exemption click this link to the Division of Workers’ Compensation, Florida Department of the Chief Financial Officer.
As a low-level Administrative Coordinator for the Risk Management Department of the City of North Miami, Puppet Commissioner Daniela Jean hardly qualifies as any one of those honored and esteemed exempt positions.
In any event, we are appealing the false and frivolous report she filed with our web hosting company, HostMonster.
If Puppet Commissioner Daniela Jean had no idea that her home address would be a public record and not “sensitive, personal information,” she should have done her homework before she threw her hat into the pubic arena.
Daniela better put on her big girl panties because we fully intend to school her every single time she does something stupid.
Welcome to public life, little girl.
Watch what happens next.

Stephanie, I agree that Commissioner-elect Jean should know better and I do fear what will become of this city. But your comment, “Personally, I find it really odd that a 34-year-old woman lives in her parents’ house. My adult children got their own homes as soon as they finished college and have been on their own ever since.” was absolutely unnecessary and insensitive. I could point out hundreds of reasons for adult children living with their parent or parents but I don’t want to bore you with sob stories. You are lucky to have your children out of the house.
Luck has nothing to do with it. I raised my children to become responsible, productive members of society as soon as they learned the alphabet. By the time they reached adulthood, they had all the tools they needed to be independent. Daniela Jean, however, claims to be an independent woman who has the skills necessary to run a city, yet she can’t even run her own life.
The fact that she actually believed her address was “sensitive, personal information” when she decided to become a politician is just further proof that she has no idea what adult public life actually means.
The fact that she tried to shut down this website because she doesn’t like being criticized, was “absolutely unnecessary and insensitive.” In fact, she attempted to violate my First Amendment rights and my rights as a reporter. After that stunt, I’m hardly concerned about being “insensitive.” Her feelings are of no consequence.
If Daniela wants to play in the big league, she’d better grow a very thick skin. She’s going to need it.
“There’s no crying in baseball!”
What kind of moron would want to disclose someone’s home address anyway? That’s what’s “weird AF”
A better question is, “What kind of moron doesn’t understand context?”
But, you do you.
