On August 22, 2019 when North Miami’s budget deficit was “only” $7.5 million, we predicted, “At this rate, North Miami could very well end up closing this year with a deficit of between $8 to $10 million.”
According to North Miami’s Real-Time Debt Clock™ the city is now $9,334,715.49 in the red.
One more thing.
We’re not sure if today’s General Fund Expenses includes tomorrow’s payroll for North Miami employees, but so far the city’s personnel expenditures are already over budget by $13,085,768.
With just two more business days in this fiscal year to go, it looks like our prediction was right on the money.

Council Scott Galvin and the rest of the peanut gallery also requested and approved a 20% salary increase for themselves. Oh how financially responsible are these elected officials *insert sarcasm*.
