Ray Marin wants you to believe that he’s making a great sacrifice by “coming out of retirement” to be your Great and Glorious Leader once again.

His entire platform is based on his promise to save NMB from all the so-called “corruption” at City Hall, and bring back trust, integrity and transparency.

The facts, however, tell a different story.

For one thing, Ray Marin did not “retire.”  He was REJECTED BY VOTERS in 2009 when he was finally voted out of office after 20 years of a lackluster career in politics.

Furthermore, despite his insistence that “he was an extraordinary leader” when he was Mayor,  Ray Marin’s administration was one of the most corrupt in the history of North Miami Beach.

Yesterday, a bombshell hit voters’ mailboxes reminding residents of Ray Marin’s “accomplishments” while he warmed a seat on the dais at City Hall.

Since he’s been out of office, the crime rate, tax rate and debt level have plummeted.

Ray Marin also strenuously opposed Charter Amendments for term limits and the Citzens Bill of Rights, both of which were passed by a landslide vote in 2009.

But the most egregious act of fiscal irresponsibility is that Ray Marin and his colleagues gifted themselves with lifetime health insurance … behind closed doors.

So much for transparency!

Those are just some of the dubious “accomplishments” Ray Marin doesn’t want you to know about.

Unfortunately for him, facts don’t lie.
