Winston Churchill once said, “Lawyers occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.”

There’s a very good reason why there are hundreds of lawyer jokes, although legend has it that most of them are true stories.

Q: What’s the difference between a lawyer and a leech?
A: After you die, a leech stops sucking your blood.

In reality, while the vast majority of attorneys are good people who genuinely want to help their clients, there are far too many scum-sucking bottom feeders – like criminal lawyers – who ruin it for the the rest of them.

Unfortunately, the most successful of them possess a unique combination of high intelligence and lack of conscience.

It’s hardly surprising that criminal lawyers like Ben Kuehne are able to vigorously and disingenuously proclaim the “innocence” of their oh-so-guilty clients.  After all, crime may not always pay, but criminal lawyers always collect.

What’s completely inexplicable, however, is how Kuehne can even stand being in the presence of a contemptible sleazeball like Myron Rosner.

Or, especially, sociopathic cretins like Frantz Pierre.

You may recall, for example, that on April 30, 2015, North Miami Beach Code Enforcement Officer Tasheema Lewis sent an email to her supervisor, Candido Sosa-Cruz, advising him that NMB “Councilman” Frantz Pierre “aggressively approached” her when she attempted to serve him with a notice of code violations.

Ms. Lewis was accosted by Pierre and his shrew of a wife, who told her that he was a “councilman” and that if she “wanted to keep her job” she’d better remove the violations.

It came as no surprise to learn that Frantzie hired criminal lawyer Benedict P. Kuehne to defend him when a complaint was filed with the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust (COE Case No. K15-032), alleging his abuse of power by threatening Ms. Lewis for doing her job.

In a letter to Assistant City Attorney Dotie Joseph dated March 29, 2016, Ben Kuehne had the chutzpah to demand that the city pay his legal fees, including an outrageous $5,000.00 retainer and a $650.00 per hour fee since, as he asserts, “the matter involves Council Member Pierre in his official capacity.”

WTF?

For one thing, Frantz Pierre was not performing in any “official capacity” whatsoever when he verbally attacked and threatened a city employee for attempting to serve him with a code violation notice.

But, nice try, Ben.

Kuehne also tried to claim that Frantzie is “entitled to have his legal defense provided by the city.”

In response, Attorney Joseph replied, “The City may but is not required  to pay for the legal fees of elected officials only in certain defined circumstances.”

I’m pretty sure that “certain defined circumstances” are not referring to incidents when elected officials threaten to have city employees fired.

Just saying.

In order to “defend” his despicable – and indefensible – client, Ben decided to go on the offense.  No one should be shocked by that sleazy tactic.

On April 21, 2016, Kuenhe sent an email to Deputy City Manager Candido Sosa-Cruz, asking for copies of all documents regarding the numerous code violations filed against Frantzie.

Since Deputy City Manager Cruz is NOT the Clerk of the City of North Miami Beach, which is the correct person to whom public records requests are to be directed, Ben apparently did not receive a response.

Oh, darn.

Ever the greedy opportunist, Ben Kuehne then sent an email on June 4, 2016, threatening to sue the City of North Miami Beach for not responding to the public records request that Ben himself screwed up in the first place.  Kuehne wrote, “Before I initiate litigation to compel compliance with the Public Records Request, I am hopeful you can bring this long-standing request to the attention of the appropriate City personnel for an expedited compliance.”

By now, Ben must have been frustrated at his inability to gouge North Miami Beach taxpayers for his fees.  So he went into full Blame-the-Victim Mode by attacking the integrity of the Code Enforcement Officer.

He demanded copies of:

1.       Any Statement, Report, Documentation, computer information, and any form of documentation by Code Compliance employee Tasheema Lewis concerning her positing of a Notice of Violation at the residence at 2120 NE 171 Street, North Miami Beach, FL 33162.

2.       All documentation concerning City Employee Tasheema Lewis on April 30, 2015, including any record of her assignments, duty responsibilities, citations issued, locations visited, time sheet entries, records of times and places she visited.

3.       All telephone log records, text message records, and any electronic forms of communication by and concerning Tasheema Lewis occurring on April 30, 2015.

4.       The entire personnel file for City Employee Tasheema Lewis.

Ben Kuehne is fully aware that Ms. Lewis was doing her job in a professional manner when she had the misfortune of being accosted by the most corrupt politician in Miami-Dade County.

Kuehne is also fully aware that his blatantly obvious fishing expedition will result in a big fat ZERO.

This whole charade is just another one of Ben Kuehne’s now infamous stalling tactics.

But since Kuehne is a highly paid prostitute criminal lawyer for hire, he’s also just doing his job.

By making incessant, unnecessary and frivolous demands for meaningless public records (and threatening the city with litigation to boot!), Ben Kuehne also knows he’s wasting city taxpayer resources, delaying the inevitable outcome of the ethics complaint, and all the while racking up tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees for his own personal gain.

Note to Ben Kuehne:  Good luck collecting from Deadbeat (and Dead Broke) Frantz Pierre!

In the end, regardless of the outcome of this Frantzie-created fiasco, North Miami Beach taxpayers lose.

And Ben Kuehne gets a new Porsche.

Due to his own extreme buffoonery, once again Frantz Pierre has created a self-inflicted drama of epic proportions.

Despite the overwhelming evidence that he has committed multiple code, ethical and legal violations, and has maliciously abused his position by violently threatening a city employee, he sees absolutely nothing wrong with his sociopathic behavior.  After all, Frantzie learned his unscrupulous ways from his own father, who was an über corrupt Duvalier regime-appointed judge in Haiti.  With this heinous tyrant as his role model, little wonder that all Frantz Pierre knows how to do is terrorize his fellow Haitian Americans, many of whom are afraid to cross elected officials and others whom they believe are in positions of power.

When you add a scum-sucking bottom feeder criminal lawyer to the mix, there is bound to be trouble.

It’s common knowledge in South Florida that Benedict P. Kuehne is the go-to guy for dirty politicians.

In a court of law, every suspect is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.

In the court of public opinion, however, any elected official who hires Ben Kuehne is automatically presumed to be guilty as sin.

You’d think politicians would have figured that out by now.  And, yet, Kuehne’s is the first phone that rings when corruptocrats get in trouble.

High profile criminal lawyers like Ben Kuehne have made their fortunes by representing corrupt politicians who break the law, rip off taxpayers and betray the public trust.

Little wonder that no one has any respect for either of them.
