Tuesday night at approximately 7:15, one man was shot to death and his step-brother injured in the bedroom of a North Miami Beach home in the vicinity of NE 175 Street and 13 Avenue.
Channel 7 reported several hours ago, “Detectives said they are looking for two or three suspects who fled from the scene in a dark-colored vehicle with tinted windows. They believe one of the suspects got out of the vehicle and possibly discharged his firearm into a window.”
Police are still working the crime scene.
This is the third murder in North Miami Beach in less than a month. The first took place on September 26, 2015 in the area of NE 151 Street and 16 Avenue, when a young male was shot to death. One week later on October 2, 2015, a 31 year old male was found shot to death in a parking lot located at NE 167 Street and 7 Avenue.
And now, less than three weeks later, another young male victim has been murdered.
VotersOpinion crime reporter Karin Kimball is on the scene interviewing neighbors and friends of the two step-brothers.
The murdered victim was a 25 year man who just graduated from college and was visiting from out of town. One of his friends said that he was a “good guy, but was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
Earlier this summer on July 19, 2015, a 16-year old male was shot dead in an alley located at NE 175 Street and 16 Avenue, only three blocks from last night’s murder. North Miami Beach Police have already made two arrests in connection with that homicide.
All four of these murders took place within an approximate two square mile area of North Miami Beach, where gang activity has picked up over the last couple of years.
The home where North Miami Beach Police Officer Lino Diaz was shot by Elton L. Bandoo on February 6, 2015 while serving a warrant was located 16033 NE 8 Avenue, which is also in this same area. Officer Diaz survived the attack and is back on duty.
If anyone has any information at all that could help the North Miami Beach Police solve this latest murder, please contact them directly or call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.

2015. One officer shot and four murders. Like I said… Odds are it is not over. When will the city government listen? Pay attention: there are many illegal weapons in this city. I wonder if council members have armed themselves? I hope everyone arms themselves because this neighborhood is rough. TWO murders on my street in less than three months. F#%ed up!
I agree with you !everybody should carry 24/7, but another way to fix it is not to be a political correct leader. Have the police approach every body loitering, trespassing, weed smoking in public (take them to jail), all bicyclist violating traffic laws at night , etc. the whole country will go down the tube because political correctness and soft proactive units ! Only matter of time before it goes all over ! Big parties late at night, bring a lot of problems too , etc etc
Surely you don’t think any of this is random! While the aunts and grandmothers, notice there are usually no parents or male role models, may claim they have “NO IDEA” of how this could have happened, chances are if you don’t live by the sword, you won’t die by it.
How many murders ocurred in Eastern Shores? As long as all the crime and murder occur on the other side of the tracks, this Council will not care, will not agree to a Union contract, will not hire more officers (yes, they’ve hired 10, yet 15 have recently retired). This Council just cares about the East side of Biscayne Boulevard. Now they are beautifying the medium of 163 st, East of Biscayne. What a joke.
If council wants to bring business and building, they might want to try to do something about the crime stats. Who would invest in Miami Gardens? Ummmm, I mean NMB
