The coast is now clear for Mayor Smith Joseph to easily slay the non-competition, Jean Marcellus, who almost didn’t qualify to run.
In the final hour before noon, Marcellus was in the process of opening a campaign account at a bank after he was told that filing with a personal check was against the law.
Jean has absolutely no knowledge of Florida election laws, yet this is a man who wants to be Mayor?
Um, yeah. Good luck with that.
At two minutes before the deadline Marcellus ran in to pay the filing fee with a check drawn on his newly opened bank account.
We all anxiously await to see if it clears.
But, even if it does and he’s allowed to continue, the choice between Medical Doctor and Certified Idiot is a no-brainer. Smith Joseph should easily win.
BUT DAMN! KEVIN BURNS IS NOT RUNNING FOR MAYOR!
The big news in another race is that City Clerk, The Hon. Michael A. Etienne, Esq., has drawn an opponent!
I’m told her name is Janet Reed.
I know absolutely nothing about her.
I’m endorsing her.
BUT DAMN! KEVIN BURNS IS NOT RUNNING FOR MAYOR!
Moving right along…
Scott Galvin is running unopposed.
BUT DAMN! KEVIN BURNS IS NOT RUNNING FOR MAYOR!
The slate for District 4 remains unchanged, and the candidates are still:
- Jessica Alston
- Alix Desulme
- Beverly Hilton
- Carline Marie Paul
- Roseline J. Philippe
BUT DAMN! KEVIN BURNS IS NOT RUNNING FOR MAYOR!
Wow! Still stunned by that news.
In case anyone cares, VotersOpinion.com is officially endorsing:
- Smith Joseph for Mayor
- Alix Desulme for District 4
- Janet Reed for City Clerk (whoever she is)
BUT DAMN! KEVIN BURNS IS NOT RUNNING FOR MAYOR!
Wow.

What do you know about Jessica Alston?
As much as I know about Janet Reed. Nada, zip, zilch.
I do, however, know Alix Desulme and he is AWESOME! Vote for him!
I am in total support of Dr. Mayor Smith Joseph in continuing to be our Mayor and Alix Desulme for District 4 Council Seat. They will serve ALL THE PEOPLE in the City and their District. Finally, we got ourselves some folks who will actually address the needs of the people! I will vouch for them on any day and anytime! Yes, we’re on the road to progress!
Glad to hear we have a new candidate for City Clerk. Maybe access to Public Records will get some respect. Please share any info on Ms. Reed as you acquire it. This was funny: “I’m told her name is Janet Reed. I know absolutely nothing about her. I’m endorsing her.”
North Miami needs to get rid of City Clerk Michael Etienne. He is the most obnoxious, arrogant, pathetic excuse for a person.
Michael Etienne was successful in having Janet Reed disqualified after the deadline! I’m working on that story, even though Michael doesn’t want the public to know the truth. No wonder Chief Lenny teamed up with Michael. The Clerk is literally in charge of public information, and can unilaterally decide which documents see the light of day and which of them the public doesn’t “need” to see … sort of like the way police chiefs can use the “magic pen” to make crime reports disappear.
In any event, I’m on this story, too. So much corruption, so little time…
What?!!!!!
The N Miami council needs to vote to put something on the ballot after this election, whatever is necessary, to get rid of an elected city clerk. As with every other city our city clerk should be appointed, not elected. An elected city clerk answers to nobody and that’s just insane!
