I am absolutely thrilled to announce that North Miami resident Alix Desulme has decided to run for North Miami Council District 4. Seriously, there could not be a more qualified or more perfect candidate!
The former North Miami City Clerk was born in Arcahaie, Haiti and moved to Westbury, New York when he was six years old. When Alix was 13, his family moved to North Miami, where he has been an active participant in community affairs as well as local politics.
In addition to being a bona fide resident for over fifteen years, Alix is the owner of a successful business in North Miami.
Also unlike his opponent, Alix is a real teacher who has been employed by Miami-Dade County Public Schools for over 20 years. Alix has also been an Adjunct Professor at two universities since 2011.
Mr. Desulme has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Science in Exceptional Student Education, and he is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
As noted in a Press Release issued tonight, when Alix was the Clerk for the City of North Miami, he “established NOMI Kids & Democracy. This program was designed to teach students about citizenship, civic involvement, local government and our electoral process through experimentation.” Alix has also has received several local and national awards for his many good works and dedication to his community.
Aside from all his obvious career achievements, Alix Desulme is a totally awesome human being! He one of the most honest, ethical and caring people I have ever met. No one deserves this seat more than he does.
Once the current occupant of the District 4 seat vacates the dais, Alix Desulme’s presence in Chambers will give the City of North Miami the rare opportunity to have its first corruption-free Mayor and Council in a decade!
North Miami voters have a chance to keep North Miami moving in the right direction by saying YES! to ethical leadership and good governance.
As such, I am proud to personally and officially endorse Alix Desulme for City Council District 4!

I was glad to see your blog. I thought he was a very good man and your telling all about him has brought me to endorse him.
A big fat YES for Alix Desulme as City Council District 4 Representative!
OMG! I am so glad this young man is running to help keep North Miami Clean. After Lucie we dont want anyone associated with her or her crew. I voted for him several times in the past. My son participated in the NOMI program at Ben Franklin Elementary school and he remember that program, he was the president of his class. Alix is a young, energetic, full of experience and has integrity. From the list of candidates I hear thus far, some just moving in our district to run I heard on the radio today, Alix definitely has the upper hand. I did not know that he was a teacher. I will get all of my neighbors and friends to vote for Alix. I believe his family has a long history in politics in Haiti, they are known for fighting for the working class and the poor. I wish him the best of luck and he has my full support and my entire block. I will walk for Alix. Thank for the blog.
