Just in case anyone is still interested, North Miami mayoral candidate Kevin Burns’ “campaign (fire) truck” is either a recently acquired vehicle, or he never bothered to register it with the State of Florida.
As I mentioned in an earlier blog, he posted a picture of this truck on his Facebook page back in August.
I’m not sure how long it takes to get a permanent license plate, but this is the tag he’s been sporting on the truck while driving around North Miami on the campaign trail.
I’m sorry, but it doesn’t take almost three months to get a new tag after you apply for a registration. It seems to me that someone doesn’t want anyone to know who actually owns the truck.
Just saying.
In addition, according to my sources in law enforcement, this is not a legal license tag and he should have been issued a citation for this violation.
And, yet, he’s been given a free pass since August?
Why hasn’t anyone in the North Miami Police Department stopped this vehicle in the last three months to check for registration?
Chief Burgess, do you have an answer for that?
Would you have given any other candidate this type of “professional courtesy?”
Go ahead, Ellen Abramson. Ask your question…
WHERE ARE THE AUTHORITIES?
Just saying.

As I said before: he’s a scammer and a joke! This yellow tag bears a striking resemblance to the tags placed on CITY VEHICLES when they’re waiting for the new tags to arrive. Joe Citizen doesn’t get a metal yellow tag-you get a thirty day paper temporary tag. White paper with black lettering. This is bullshit is what it is! I smell a big ol pile of crap.
Hey Kevin you wanna weigh in and dispel any doubt?
Crickets.
Ya, I didn’t think so. Scammer.
You are more than “just” a blogger. Way to stay on it and call what you see.
Well looks like he’ll have to put that truck away for 6 months. But I hope you dont give up tracking down the truth here.
Maybe all of us in NoMi can get one free pass for having an expired/no tag.
