I woke up fully intending to write a serious blog. I really did. But, then I did a dumb thing. Instead, I logged onto my Pinterest.
Pinterest.com is a social media website, much like a message board, where people “pin” pictures of random stuff they find interesting. Users troll the boards of other users and then “re-pin” pictures they like to their own boards.
One can literally spend hours doing this.
Obviously, I’m guilty as charged.
I had every intention of telling you what I’ve been able to find out about the candidates running in the North Miami Special Election.
Like the fact that, while none of them have a criminal record, two of them did manage to get arrested a few years back.
Which I suppose would have been newsworthy but for the fact that neither of the arrests stuck. The disposition of one case was “Nolle Prosequi,” which means that it wasn’t prosecuted, and the other’s was “Disposed,” whatever that means.
In any event, there’s nothing to tell about either arrest since the cases never went anywhere, so no details are forthcoming.
The only thing I can tell you is that, not surprisingly, Dr. Smith Joseph was not one of the them.
But, instead of writing about the candidates, I ended up pinning pictures to my Pinterest boards.
I have two boards. One is called “Redecoration Project,” where I pin pictures of cool furniture and accessories that I would love to have in my home. Of course, in order to be able to buy all the things I’ve pinned to my Pinterest board, I’d have to be a millionaire and have a house the size of Buckingham Palace.
But a girl can dream, right?
I mean, seriously. Who wouldn’t want this paper towel holder?
I also have a board called “Random Stuff,” which is where I pin funny pictures that I find on other people’s boards and steal them for myself.
And I do love funny pictures. Like this one, for instance:
Which made me think I’d better stop messing around and get serious about the election.
I tried really hard to smack the silly out of myself since I know you’d much rather read about the skeletons in the closets of the three candidates than my addiction to silly pictures.
I’m sure it would be much more important for you to know whether or not your future Mayor would be fiscally prudent or blow your hard earned tax dollars on frivolous things like Lesly Prudent’s salary, right?
If that’s the case, then I’m sure it would be of great interest to you that Jean Rodrigue Marcellus had two tax liens levied by the Taliaferro County Superior Court in Georgia for $736.00 and $578.00. In both cases, his address was listed as 16459 NE 6th Avenue, North Miami Beach.
Or that he owes the Internal Revenue Service a whopping $10,047.00 as a result of a tax lien filed against him in the Broward County Circuit Court, which interestingly reflects his address as 7741 Shalimar Street, in MIRAMAR, where he was “last seen” in 2008, according to BeenVerified.com.
Jean Rodrigue Marcellus is also the proud “owner” of a Civil Judgment against him in the amount of $4,035.00 by Monogram CC Bank of Georgia and filed in the Broward County Circuit Court.
Lastly, Mr. Marcellus was smacked with a Foreclosure Judgment in the amount of $64,384.00 for a home he owned at 6504 Emerald Lake Drive, Hollywood, Florida.
All these judgments against him could explain why he’s had so many addresses. According to BeenVerified.com, he’s been “seen” at:
And that’s just in Florida. No record of why he has two tax liens in Georgia.
According to his Statement of Candidate for the 2014 Special Election, Jean Rodrigue Marcellus now lives at 13500 NE 3rd Avenue. Which is conveniently located in North Miami.
Interestingly, when he ran for Mayor in 2013, according to his Campaign Treasurer’s Report, he lived at 275 NE 122nd Street.
Let’s face it … the dude is a nomad.
Which is probably why he wants to get back on the dais at North Miami City Hall. It’s probably the only chair he’s ever sat in that stays in one place.
Just saying.
Then again, rather than tell you all that serious stuff, I’d much rather be posting some of my favorite things I found on Pinterest. Like this one, for example:
That had me…
Of course, I could tear myself away from my Pinterest Random Stuff board and tell you about Kevin A. Burns’ financial woes.
Like his Chapter 13 Bankruptcy case, for instance, which was filed in 1997 and since disposed.
Or the Civil Judgment filed against him by Savits Enterprises, Inc. in the amount of $72,000.00.
Or his Federal Tax Lien for $47,225.00
Or yet another Civil Judgment filed by City National Bank of Florida for $14,972.00.
Kevin was also sued by one Annie Montgomery, who obtained a Civil Judgment against him in the amount of $118,362.00.
If that weren’t bad enough, Capital One Bank also smacked him with a Civil Judgment for $3,232.00.
Adding to Kevin’s financial troubles is yet another Civil Judgment levied against him in the amount of $9,026.00 by Wahmhoff Farms Nursery.
Not to be left out, the Internal Revenue Service also smacked him with a Federal Tax Lien for $4,838.00, which was since released.
Unfortunately, candidate Smith Joseph doesn’t have any Bankruptcy, Judgments or Liens to talk about, so he’s feeling a bit left out right now.
I’d console him, but I’m too busy wasting time on the internet, pinning funny stuff to Pinterest.
Which is why I decided to post a blog that had nothing at all to do with the North Miami Election today, but one that was hilarious just the same.
Because I could literally waste hours each day on the internet if I didn’t have a job.
I know. I’m addicted to the internet. I have withdrawals when I’m away from my computer.
Thank goodness I can always Tweet from my phone!

This is a very funny post today. Oh, and tragic too.
Kevin, I just hate when that happens. When I go online I have to constantly remind myself to step away from the coffee cup. I just wonder how people come up with this stuff. But I love it. Laughing is good for the soul. Maybe not so much for the keyboard.
Stephanie, I just wish there was someone like you in Cubanville. (Hialeah)You could have a ball. Question is why is this info you uncover not published in the MSM? Are the news afraid to post the info.
There is a blogger in Hialeah – Political Cortadito, a/k/a Ladra. She’s fearless and goes where no blogger dares to tread. Unarmed.
As for the MSM not publishing this stuff, I’m guessing that so many career politicians are in the same financial boat, it’s not really news. If even Hillary can claim she’s broke…
Yeah, my heart bleeds.
love that website, get a lot of great ideas and new concepts from it. That being said, your blog didn’t uncover any new financial difficulties that you haven’t posted in the past, for Mr. Burns. I believe in the past blogs you supported him………….just saying………
Yes, I did “support” Burns in the last election. I didn’t know Smith Joseph at all (no one else did, either), and most of us figured that Lucie was Andre’s puppet. I’m not so sure about that now, but Lucie has enough to worry about at this point.
As of now, I am not supporting any candidate. I am merely doing my thing (dirt digging) and reporting what I find out. If I decide to support or endorse any candidate, you’ll know it the minute I do.
You do realize, however, that my “endorsement” of any candidate will be worth about the same thing as a Caramel Mocha Latte at McDonald’s.
You’re buying.
U rock!
U roll!
G,day Stephanie. Don’t mean to hijack this thread. I can’t find a contact form on your blog page. I just heard of a floating city being planned for Maule Lake. Haven’t seen anything on your blog about it. Seems like some interesting laws regarding the deeded bay bottom and navigable waterways.
Loved your response…but I would look a bit closer.Dr Smith’s residency was in question when he ran the last time. Certainly unlike the bounty of candidates in the past election, both in NMB and NM. Those were so oblivious they probably needed a GPS to figure out were they were. That being said, owning a Condo and visiting it enough to look good while your wife and family reside in a different city doesn’t quite make you a resident..
I heard the same thing about Dr. Joseph in the last election. At that time I couldn’t find out any information about where he lived because he didn’t own any real property in his own name. However, I recently found out that he lived in Miramar with his wife until December 27, 2011, when they sold their home. On June 21, 2012, Smith Joseph purchased the condominium located at his listed address of 2100 Sans Souci Boulevard, Apt. B706. On June 28, 2012, he quit claimed that unit to his company, SPS Enterprises, LLC. There is no record of where he lived from the time he sold his Miramar home until the day he purchased the North Miami unit. However, when he ran for office in 2013, it appears he was a resident of North Miami. He may or may not have been a bona fide resident, according to the charter, because I couldn’t tell you whether or not he lived the required twelve months in North Miami prior to the qualifying period. Since he didn’t win the election, this is a moot point at this time. All I know for sure is that he owned no real property from December of 2011 through June of 2012. Where he lived during those six months is anyone’s guess.
Funny shit.
I try.
They all have a problem. But the only true resident is
Kevin and despite his fineancial troubles he still is the only candidate who will keep the ver crooked Haitians
from stealing from te city
The expression when growing up was “lets chose up sides. Lets change that to “lets chose up cities” and see which is worse.
