North Miami Beach Police Department just issued a Press Release announcing that they have made a second arrest in the January 16, 2014 kidnapping and rape case.

1/28/14 -Today’s Update:

North Miami Beach Police undercover detectives were watching locations for a particular second person of interest in the kidnapping/sexual battery case.  Today this 17 year old suspect was seen in a blue Nissan at one of the locations.  Detectives followed the car until other law enforcement resources were in the area to do a proper and safe take down of the car and its occupants.  Detectives knew that this person of interest in our abduction case was already wanted for an unrelated armed robbery committed in November in Miami Dade County.  Once resource and back- ups were in the vicinity, the vehicle stopped, and the occupant(s) were detained.  This occurred at NE 2 Ct. and NE 58 Ter. at about 1:20 pm today.  Our person of interest was arrested for the November county robbery case and taken to Miami Dade Police Headquarters, where detectives from both agencies will be interviewing him on both cases (the County November armed robbery and the current North Miami Beach kidnapping/sexual battery case).  Details are vague because our detectives have not closed this case yet, as other individuals involved may still be at large.  No further information will be released today.
