I just received an email from North Miami Beach Police Chief J. Scott Dennis to alert the community that there has been a kidnapping and rape in our city. The Police Department is asking the public for help in distributing this information in the hopes that they can solve the case. Please share via email, social media and with your friends and neighbors!

Thank you!
the likelihood of the two purported assailants going around town wearing black glove and brandishing firearms during their daily, non-criminal activities is nil.
This event is tragic and horrific, but I don’t see how the community at large will be of help. If someone saw something suspicious during the event and they didn’t report it what makes anyone believe that people will come forward so long after the fact?
What’s more is there any evidence that such people, cowards though they may be, ever come forward once the news gets more public attention?
They’re obviously trying to get tips from someone who witnessed the crime since the description of the crime will not help anyone find the assailants if they did not witness who they were and what they were driving.
Prem people come forward all the time, in their time. Sometimes it take minutes, sometime years. And there is no reason to judge people.
And I don’t understand why you would even be making these kind of comment – would you rather not a information release go out? Isnt more information the better? And clearly someone knows these people and may even seen the horrible disguises which quite frankly you have no real reason to say it is “nil”. We know not what causes all effects, since a lot of it is not even in our awareness, and if you are suggesting people who dont come forward are cowards, well I suggest you become more patient and encouraging of people (Or maybe understand “for instance” women who try to leave abusers are very likely to be killed – every day 3 girlfriends/partners are killed by their husbands/boyfriends – just as an example of how we cannot judge how we think others “should” act or what kind of fear people may be in– as a man I don’t know how much you have considered this. ))
And THANK YOU STEPHANIE for alerting the community about this. We all need to be more alert. And prem, this was disturbing enough so I am not going to respond to any comments back from you, just from someone that may be old enough to be your mother (?), I suggest there is some learning in here for you – And recognize the more something is out in the public the better. Thank you.
The best way the community can help is if they saw anything at all. Unfortunately, the press release doesn’t state the time of day the incident happened, nor does it name any specific restaurants/gas stations that they stopped at. If we knew those places and times, perhaps people will remember if they happened to be there at the time. The press release could have been a little more informative about that, but I’m refraining from complaining since they issued one at all.
It was Popeyes Fried Chicken. Police say the woman was picking up take-out food from a restaurant at 1026 North Miami Beach Blvd. when she was approached by the men she walked to her car parked in the back of the building.
