Channel 7’s four o’clock news today reported a shooting in Miami Gardens. So far, none of the local news stations have posted this violent crime on their websites.
NBC Miami, however, did report another story that was apparently much more newsworthy than yet another almost daily shooting in what has become inarguably the most violent city in Florida.
Nearly stumbling over his words, Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley was practically shaking his head in disbelief when he exclaimed, “I gotta admit, I haven’t seen this before,” as he read the charges to the 18 year old defendant. Daniel Espinosa was accused of allegedly stealing over $15,000.00 worth of panties from a Victoria’s Secret store during three separate occasions.
How the Judge kept a straight face as he blurted out that the defendant stole “300 pieces of women’s Dream Angels underwear” is beyond me.
Espinosa quickly ratted out his co-defendant, whose name wasn’t released since he is a minor, by accusing him of stealing over $76,000.00 in property.
Um, yeah. That’s a lot of freaking panties! I can’t even begin to imagine what they intended to do with them.
According to NBC Miami, “Espinosa made his court appearance remotely via video. A public defender said Espinosa lives with his parents and is a recent high school graduate. Espinosa said he has no money in the bank and has lived in South Florida his whole life.”
Judge Hurley also reportedly told the defendant, “Don’t come back to Victoria’s Secret.”
