NMB: Miami Homicide Subject Arrested by our Street Crimes Unit

Great job today by our North Miami Beach Police Department!

“Miami Homicide Subject Arrested by our Street Crimes Unit

The below 24 year old black male was wanted in connection with a homicide he committed in the City of Miami in Sept of this year.  He got in an argument with another man over a woman.  He supposedly killed the other man with an AK-47 in front of numerous people in courtyard of an apartment complex.

The City of Miami PD and US Marshalls came to the subject’s mother’s house at 2040 NE 168 Street in NMB.  They requested our help to make contact in an attempt to locate the subject.  Our Street Crimes Unit made contact with landlord and found out the mother moved out.  Miami PD and US Marshalls found an address for subject’s sister at 2251 NE 170 Street, also in NMB.  They sat on the location.   Units observed the homicide subject enter a vehicle and requested our Street Crimes Unit to make a felony traffic stop on the car.  Subject was taken into custody at 4:15 pm today.  J

Special thanks go out to our Street Crimes Unit again, working hard to keep our streets safe for all the good people of NMB.

  1. Great job. I can’t believe this dude lives in our neighborhood. I wonder how many AK 47s were in his house

  2. Cops risk their lives. I bet Gerald does not risk his life for his job and I would bet he makes a lot more money than our life-risking employees

  3. The wonderful Government Center neighborhood. This centrally located neighborhood could be so much more, but instead we continue allowing “affordable housing” projects. Even Miami Gardens doesn’t allow this type of development any more.

    1. I couldn’t agree with you more. When they poured all that money into “renovating” Harvard House, it was totally ridiculous. The area around City Hall was ripe for new development. It should have been torn down completely and replaced with mixed use buildings per the old Glatting-Jackson proposal. Whatever happened that that proposed plan, anyway? More money down the drain, I guess.

I’ve said it before a million times: Not only do we have a code enforcement problem, WE HAVE A CODE PROBLEM! The shortsightedness of previous administrations by never updating our building code was insane. Former Mayor Ray Marin was the only one with any vision, and he was despised by the small but vocal anti-development group, who replaced him by installing Myron the Moron. (We see how well that turned out, huh?) If there was a comprehensive and cohesive code in NMB, the “government center” could have been a showcase we could be proud of, with shopping, culture and beautiful buildings that would attract visitors. (Would it kill us to try to get a museum???) Instead, we have … Well, you see what we have.

  4. Hey Gerald, the street crimes unit is made up of 1 Sgt in the DROP, 3 Detectives in the DROP, 1 Detective with 14 yrs of service and another with 8. I guess your “10 yr longevity study” is as good as the millions spent to see how rattlesnakes interact with squirrels”. Your a moron Gerald. Great job SCU!!!
