Friends and neighbors, the NMB Runoff Election will be this coming Tuesday, the 21st of May (for early voting see below). I merely remind you that this date should be penciled in to your calendar. I will stop just shy of pleading with you to vote and telling you how important it is.
However, it should be noted that in one seat the challenger is alleged not to actually live in the City of NMB and is in Contempt of Court for failing to provide documents proving she does. This should be concerning to all of us.
In the other seat, a man with a family history of NMB public service is being challenged by a gentleman who has openly stated that his priority upon being elected is NOT to work towards the betterment of our City but instead said, “To me, this job [would be] like any job. I am working for the benefits of it. Free health and dental plus a small salary.” In this case, I am not sure whether it is worse to be a lying politician or an honest one!
Tuesday, May 21, 2013, is election day once again for run offs.
Early voting is Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17 at NMB City Hall 10am – 6pm
I am voting on Tuesday 21 May 2013 for Beth SPIEGEL and for Tony DEFILLIPO. I hope you will too. If their challengers win, we are in more serious trouble than ever before.
