In typical Myron Rosner fashion, the EX-mayor of North Miami Beach’s long awaited trial for several FELONIES and misdemeanors regarding his alleged campaign finance fraud, including the FELONY of grand theft in the third degree, has managed to get his case postponed twice. The first time was due to the recusal of the original judge about a month after his arrest, which pushed the trial from October to November. The first trial was set for November 30, 2012, however, on October 26, 2012, the court docket shows, “DEFN ZIP CODE & ST CHANGED BY FINALIST PURSNT TO CLERK.” Then on November 6, 2012 the court docket shows, “DEFN STREET CHANGED BY FINALIST PURSUANT TO CLERK.”
WTF? Did Myron move? This just begs speculation. Did his wife, CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE SARAH ZABEL, finally throw the bum out? That certainly would be a juicy bit of gossip, eh? I’m just saying.
Moving right along…
Also on November 6, 2012, Alternate Judge Bertila Soto was assigned to the case. On November 8, 2012, a Notice of Hearing was scheduled for November 20, 2012, at which hearing the Judge set a trial date of January 28, 2013. In addition, a “Telephonic Hearing” is scheduled for December 10, 2012.
Since I am not, nor have I ever been a criminal, I can’t tell you for sure how much of this is the usual and customary course of business in FELONY trials. We all know that Myron is the King of Continuances when it comes to matters of the law. He delayed his trial before the Ethics Commission for nearly three years, which resulted in a NO DECISION, despite the fact that Myron claims to have been exonerated. He’s also currently appealing the City of North Miami Beach’s ruling about all his code violations in order to avoid bringing his property into compliance with the code.
It’s not surprising he would attempt to pull every string, including the My-Wife-Is-A-Judge Card, to delay facing the music for FELONY charges and standing trial for his CRIMES. The fact that he managed to finagle a “Telephonic Hearing” instead of making an appearance in person like every other CRIMINAL defendant in America, leads me to believe he also played the Poor-Me-I’m-Disabled Card and claimed it was a hardship to get in his van and drive to the courthouse. Of course, it wasn’t such a hardship for him to drive all over the City of North Miami Beach spying on residents and issuing them Fake Notices of Code Violations last summer! He obviously got immense pleasure out of scaring the hell out of people and destroying their lives. But showing up for a hearing? Where’s the joy in that?
After all his years of driving the residents of North Miami Beach nuts and making us miserable, Myron is finally getting his payback. There are no fake Happy Holidays bus benches in his future. Hopefully, the next time we see his ugly mug it’s on the front page of The Miami Herald after he’s convicted on CRIMINAL charges and sentenced to prison. That would definitely be a collector’s issue worth framing!
