Late yesterday afternoon I received a copy of an email that was sent out by North Miami Mayor Andre Pierre, announcing an upcoming Foreclosure Workshop scheduled for next Wednesday.  My first thought was that unfortunately the workshop came around too late for Hizzoner himself, since his house is being foreclosed on as we speak.

Oh, the irony!

Yesterday, I contacted North Miami Councilman Scott Galvin and asked him about this Workshop, and he said the first he heard of it was when he received an email from the mayor’s office that afternoon, just a couple hours before I called him.  Apparently, Andre Pierre neglected to fill his colleagues in on his plans.  Considering that North Miami’s Pee-Air acts as if the city is his own personal kingdom, that’s hardly surprising.

This morning, Miami New Times reporter Tim Elfrink published a column, Andre Pierre, Whose House Is In Foreclosure, Presents “Foreclosure Prevention” Class.  As Mr. Elfrink pointed out, although Pierre claims he is “in the process of negotiating” a settlement, the truth is that the foreclosure “is still open.”  Pierre has simply stopped making mortgage payments, part of which is most likely an escrow payment for real estate taxes, in effect screwing both the bank and the city.  If his taxes remain unpaid, the bigger irony is that he’s also impersonating a Taxpayer.  Andre Pierre is a member of the non-existent/not non-profit North Miami Taxpayers Soccer Club, which he formed for the sole purpose of having the fees waived for his personal use of the field, effectively ripping off the City of North Miami not only for his own real estate taxes, but an additional $40,000.00 plus in unpaid field rentals.

What a guy, huh?  Yeah, Andre Pierre has now officially tied former North Miami Beach mayor Myron Rosner’s PUC (Pure Unadulterated Chutzpah) Score.  He’ll most likely surpass it by the time he’s termed out next year.

Speaking of which, how come this guy’s still in office?  Never mind that, how come he’s not in jail?  You think he’d have hit his Corruption Quota by now.  Jeez!

As fate would have it, the Huffington Post picked up the Miami New Times column today, thereby making North Miami mayor Andre Pierre an Official National Disgrace.
