Rep. Julien Files Disabled Parking Permit Legislation
NORTH MIAM BEACH, Fla. — Today, Representative John Patrick Julien (D-North Miami Beach) refiled his Disabled Parking Permit bill for the 2012 legislative session. Similar legislation was considered and failed during the 2011 session.

House Bill 27 will allow parking enforcement officials to impose fines and revoke disabled parking permits from able-bodied individuals who improperly use the permits.

“Far too many able-bodied individuals are abusing the parking permits intended to help those who need to park close to their destination. I introduced this bill last legislative session but could never make it on the agenda of the Committee of first referral even though it was approved in the Senate.  The bill is supported by many organizations that work with the disabled and I am again filing it at their behest,” said Representative Julien.
